John P. (Rick) Mcbroom

Vice President of Land and Acquisitions

Mr.McBroom graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1979 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management. Mr. McBroom joined San Isidro in 2011 as Vice President of Land and Acquisitions.

Mr. McBroom started his career as a petroleum landman at Crown Central Petroleum Corporation (“Crown”). Mr. McBroom’s primary duties at Crown were managing its land department and lease records department. Mr. McBroom’s duties included working with lease brokers, leasing and working with trade agreements. Crown was an independent oil and gas company with assets in different geologic basins in Texas and the United States. Crown also owned a refinery in Pasadena, Texas where Mr. McBroom worked from January 1980 to July 1980 during the 1980 OCAW strike.

From 1981 to 1990, Mr. McBroom worked for Tana Oil and Gas Corp. (“Tana”) as a petroleum landman. Mr. McBroom’s responsibilities at Tana included all aspects of landman field work and in house contract work with agreements and legal documents. Mr. McBroom also worked closely with Tana’s exploration team. Tana was a privately owned oil and gas exploration company focused primarily on the Wilcox, Frio-Vicksburg and Edwards trends in South Texas, as well as the expanded Yegua trend along the upper Texas Gulf Coast. Mr. McBroom was also involved with and participated in Tana’s $476.5MM asset divestiture to Texaco, Inc. in November 1989.

Mr. McBroom was a part owner and Vice – President of Walker and McBroom Inc. (“WMI”) and Walker and McBroom Energy, Inc. (“WME”). Mr. McBroom managed all land management responsibilities and duties for WMI and WME and worked closely with WMI and WME’s highly qualified and well respected exploration teams. WMI and WME were exploration companies primarily focused on oil and gas exploration and acquisition opportunities in South Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast. WMI participated in small producing property acquisitions and divestitures and exploration opportunities. WME was formed in July 1994 primarily to participate in 3D seismic opportunities in the geographic areas described above. Both WMI and WME have been wound down and are no longer active companies.

In 1998, Mr. McBroom founded Highland Minerals, Inc. (“Highland”). Highland is an independent oil and gas exploration company which focused its exploration and drilling efforts primarily in South Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Highland aligned itself with highly qualified and well respected geoscientists in Corpus Christi, Texas to generate, assemble, market and develop prospects in the Frio – Vicksburg and Wilcox trends. Mr. McBroom worked with geoscientists and contributed his land expertise and capital in all of Highland’s projects.
